Head down to Kings Harbor on Friday, February 19th to hear the sounds of country music with the 8 Seconds Band.  You will also have the opportunity to participate in line dancing led by Dance Arts Country Ballroom instructors.  So make sure to wear your boots to this event.  If you don’t want to dance, enjoy watching those that do.  Bring your friends and family to hang out with Keller Williams Realty Northeast and the 8 Seconds band while enjoying the sights and sounds of Kings Harbor.  While there are several restaurants in Kings Harbor to enjoy, Pitt’s & Spitt’s will be serving barbecus starting at 6:30 pm (cash only).  The special guest for the evening will be the Society of St. Stephen.  Get there early to also enter the drawing for Houston Rodeo tickets for the night featuring Brooks and Dunn.

If the event is rained out, the rainout date for the concert is February 26th.

Today I attended the Top Flyer Luncheon at Vic and Anthony’s in downtown Houston hosted by Newland Communities - Eagle Springs.  The luncheon was attended by Realtors that sold a new home in the Eagle Springs master planned community in 2009.  What stood out most to me during the lunch was that Eagle Springs even in the current real estate market sold over 200 homes in 2009, and Eagle Springs also was the number one selling community in all the Houston, TX area.

I attended a meeting at our office yesterday with guest speaker Mike Byers, president of the Lake Houston Chamber of Commerce.  The meeting provided details of upcoming projects in and around the area that are going to have a great impact to our communities for the positive.  A few items include a 10K that will take place in Kingwood prior to the next Houston marathon that will draw thousands of people to the our community, a new movie theatre at Northpark Dr. and Highway 59 N, new restaurants, the new dinosaur amusement park and learning center with an anticipated ground breaking in May of this year, private funding raised to conduct a study for a concert hall to be built in the area, an article soon to be released by Newsweek featuring the Atascocita area as the fastest growing areas in Texas and 3rd fastest growing area in the nation, and much more.  I drove on the Beltway the other day between W. Lake Houston Pkwy. and 59 the other day while on appointments and noticed the rapid pace of the construction.  My understanding is that the Beltway will be done in a year and under budget.  The Beltway will be a tollway with feeder roads.  I have also heard that HEB has committed to Summerwood.  There is so much going on that I can’t get it all in, but I just wanted to share a few of the items going on that makes the northeast Houston area one of the best areas to live, work and play.
